Setting the Stage
February 15, 2012
Before we dive into the characters of Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker, let’s set the stage a bit. The artworks depicted in this set of images lay down the groundwork for various locations in the movie. To create a believable scene, a good understanding of the space that characters have to work within must be established. As you can see, the director has mapped out floor plans and interiors utilizing some real world elements to create the scenes.
High Seeker’s Office
This image sets the stage for the powerful High Seeker’s office. The Seekers of Truth is an Andrastian order that answers directly to the Divine in Val Royeaux. The organization appears to act as a check and balance to the power of the Templar Order.
Lazarro’s Hideout - 1
This concept art details the hideout of a new character to the Dragon Age world – the information trader named Lazarro. Sori-San used real world elements to help him create a realistic world.
Lazarro’s Hideout - 2
A more in-depth floor map of Lazarro’s hideout. You can get a better feel for the actual size and space of his dwelling. It makes you wonder what the cost per square foot is on a place like this.
Lazarro’s Lair
A good way to keep someone out of your house is to build it on a mountainside with no ladder. As an information trader, Lazarro takes many necessary precautions.
Murder Scene
This artwork depicts a bit more of the gruesome side for Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker. The land of Thedas is a dangerous place, and this concept art illustrates just that. In a world of swords and magic, there are bound to be casualties.
